Materials containing precious metals

ALKU Edelmetalle

This is our company’s most extensive area of activity.

Not least due to the many different types and the precious metals contained in them (silver, gold, palladium, platinum, rhodium, etc.), this is an extremely interesting but also difficult area.

We have been active in this field for more than 20 years by now and have acquired the necessary knowledge and the right processing resources and capabilities.
Aside from our database of samples (comprising approx. 4,000 analysed materials) and a large number of laboratories with which we cooperate, it is not least the personal experience of our staff in purchasing and also in the warehouse which enable us to handle our orders smoothly and, from the customer’s perspective, comprehensibly and flawlessly.

We would like to offer you a brief insight into this broad spectrum of materials:

Electronic waste containing precious metals includes (amongst other things) the following:

Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs)

ALKU gmbh gold

There are many different types of circuit boards containing precious metals. They can originate from computers and servers, but also from measuring devices and mobile phones. It is almost always advisable to process the precious metals contained. Should you be interested or have questions, please do not hesitate to have a word with us.

Processors

ALKU silber

These are found on all motherboards. They are produced both in ceramics and in plastic. The constituent elements of precious metals contained (silver, gold and palladium) vary according to type, year of construction and manufacturer.

Palladium

These are predominantly found on the motherboards in computers or PCs respectively. Depending on the type, year of construction and the manufacturer, they contain varying quantities of silver, gold and palladium.

Electrical Plugs

Alku Rhodium

Here it is frequently a case of connection plugs from the electronics sector. These can be of a variety of types, e.g. with a housing of plastic or metal. However they mostly have gold-plated pins.

Production waste containing precious metals includes (amongst other things) the following:

Copper Stripes

These often occur as waste material generated in the production of chips and components, but also in all other sectors of the electrical industry. There are silver-plated and gold-plated copper strips. Here it is purposeful to get both the copper and the precious metals extracted by processing.

ALKU Kupferstanzbänder

Here also the quantity of product is to be found as waste generated in the manufacture of chips and components, but also in all other areas of the electrical industry. In our example the gold-plating is clearly evident. However concealed precious metals can also be retrieved in the course of our processing work.

Aluminium Housings

ALKU nichteisenhaltig

It is primarily in radio technology that the aluminium housing parts are silver plated. We have the possibility to retrieve the precious metals without losing the aluminium parts in the smelting process (as is otherwise usually the case).

As a point of principle: no matter what area of activity (electronics, military, industry, etc.), no matter what carrier material (copper, brass, aluminium, stainless steel, plastic, glass, etc.) or with which precious metals (silver, gold, palladium, platinum, rhodium, etc.) – we will find the best possible means of recycling it for you!

Was your waste product, containing precious metals, not named here? Talk to us about it!

At no cost to you, we get an independent laboratory to carry out an analysis on a sample made available to us.

Based on the latest stock exchange prices for materials, we reimburse you for the metal contents which the analysis reveals as being present.

No matter which precious metal, no matter which carrier material – we are the right contact partner for you and we find the ideal solution!
